NASA plans to send new model drones to uncover the mysteries of Mars and collect detailed information. In the meantime, the US space agency has also designed a drone capable of flying to Mars and collecting data.
According to NASA, a copter-type drone named 'Ingenuity' has already been sent to Mars. The new drone named 'Mars Chopper' will be much more powerful than the Ingenuity copter.
As a result, it will be able to transport more goods. The drone is being developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Ames Research Center in Southern California, USA.
The drone, called Mars Chopper, has six rotors. Each rotor has six blades. The drone, which is equipped with a kit for analyzing various data, including images, can fly up to three kilometers with a maximum weight of five kilograms. As a result, scientists will be able to study a large part of Mars.
NASA sent the Ingenuity copter drone to Mars with the Perseverance rover in 2020. The copter drone has been flying around Mars for more than three years, collecting data. The new drone is expected to be more capable than the Ingenuity copter, allowing it to explore deeper into Mars.
