Said Joudeh was a doctor by profession. He lived in the northern Gaza Strip of Palestine. It is said that he was the only orthopedic doctor for the people of that region. Said was killed by an Israeli tank shell on Thursday.

Palestinian government officials confirmed the death of Dr. Saeed, who was on his way to work when the attack occurred. He worked as a surgeon at Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda hospitals in northern Gaza.

The Israeli military says it knows nothing about the incident. An investigation is underway.

Doctor Sayed was retired. After the war in Gaza began, he resumed his service to the people. Last month, he held a press conference at Kamal Adwar Hospital holding a placard that read, "Save Us."

"He (Sayed) was shot directly at by an Israeli tank while he was on his way to Al-Awda Hospital after seeing a patient," said Hussam Abu Safia, the hospital's director. "Unfortunately, he was killed on the spot."

However, some witnesses said that Dr. Saeed was shot by a drone.

Israeli forces have been carrying out heavy attacks on northern Gaza for the past couple of months, with shelling now a regular occurrence in the area.

Israel claims that Hamas fighters are trying to regroup in northern Gaza, which is why it is attacking Hamas targets in that area.

Hamas launched an attack on Israeli territory on October 7 last year. Israeli forces launched a counterattack on Gaza on the same day.

More than 44,500 people, including women and children, have been killed in the indiscriminate attacks that have lasted for more than a year. The number of injured has exceeded one hundred thousand. This is according to the Health Ministry of Hamas-controlled Gaza.
