Manchester City 1:1 Everton

Manchester City's woes continued on Boxing Day football. Home games, relatively weak opposition, and a history of consecutive wins on Boxing Day - none of these things worked for Pep Guardiola's side. Despite taking an early lead against Everton in the Premier League, Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw.

The reigning champions have dropped points in four consecutive league matches, with City having gone winless in 12 of their last 13 matches in all competitions.

City could have won today's match at the Etihad by a score of 2-1. City were awarded a penalty in the 51st minute of the match. Erling Haaland took a long shot. But the striker, who was drowning in the quicksand of failure like the team, could not make use of it. His weak left-footed shot was brilliantly blocked by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Earlier, Bernardo Silva gave City the lead in the 14th minute of the match. Illiman Ndiaye equalized this goal in the 36th minute.

After two goals in the first half, no one was able to put the ball in the net in the second half. Although City had a chance in the penalty area, Haaland wasted it. Which ultimately sent City off the field in frustration.

Manchester City had won seven consecutive matches prior to the Boxing Day game on December 26.
