Former US President Donald Trump. He was impeached twice during his tenure. After his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, he tried to prevent a peaceful transfer of power. Apart from this, many cases of criminal charges are on his neck. However, there is a possibility of Trump sitting on the mattress of the White House again.

The presidential election is going to be held again in 2024 in the United States. Trump has a great chance of becoming the candidate of the Republican Party. According to the calculations of various public opinion polls conducted at the national level, he is ahead of others in his party by about 50 percentage points to get nominated as a presidential candidate.

In the next election, the current President Joe Biden can get the nomination from the ruling Democratic Party again. In the end, if Trump becomes the Republican candidate, he will have to face Biden in the election. After winning that election for four reasons, the billionaire Trump, who created many discussions and debates, can get the responsibility of governing the United States for the second time.

Unhappy Voters

The Joe Biden-led White House says the country's economy is in good shape. When Trump left office, the unemployment rate in the United States was 6.3 percent. That rate has now come down to 3.9 percent. And in June 2022, inflation was 9 percent. Last October it was 3.2 percent.

But a large portion of US citizens, including young voters, see the economy differently. They say that the cost of various essential products and services, including groceries, cars and houses, care of children and the elderly, has increased. However, the salary did not increase accordingly. Public opinion polls show that a larger share of voters believe that the US economy is better in the hands of the Republicans than the Democrats.

Fearmongering

Voters are swinging for more reasons than the economy. Trump raised many concerns to voters. According to him, there are many white citizens in the United States. Yet this country is becoming more diverse and culturally changing day by day with the presence of people of more races and castes.

Another attitude is at work among Americans—that things like home ownership, a respectable salary to keep pace with inflation, and college education are falling out of reach for many. These are considered the foundations of American life. In addition, the survey showed that American voters are worried about criminal activities. They are also concerned about illegal immigrants entering the United States through the Mexican border.

Trump is quite adept at exploiting these fear-mongering issues. He 'starts fire' by inciting people on the one hand, and 'puts out the fire' by offering solutions on the other hand. Trump first announced that the country was in chaos. And then he brought himself forward as a protector.

Many voters see no wrong in Trump's actions

Many of Trump's own party, the Republican Party, criticize him. Democrats as well as many in the media do not consider him qualified for the White House. But millions of voters are unwilling to accept it.

Even many of Trump's supporters think that the former president is a victim of political outrage. Earlier this year, a survey of Republican Party supporters was conducted by Reuters and the research institute "Ipsos". It shows that at least half of those supporters said they would vote for Trump if he were convicted of a crime.

Biden's all to blame

Joe Biden took the US jobs policy through massive government investment in housing, green energy, and chip manufacturing. However, the Biden administration has failed to convince most Americans of the life-changing nature of that policy.

Apart from this, Biden has involved himself with two wars outside the United States. This US involvement in the war divided Americans. Trump has a reputation for non-interference abroad. His policy is 'America First'. Americans who fear the United States becoming more involved in the Ukraine or Israel issue may agree with Trump's 'America First' policy.
