Despite an ongoing ceasefire, Israeli forces have launched relentless attacks in Gaza, killing at least 97 Palestinians and injuring another 230, according to the Hamas-run government media office in Gaza.

The media office further stated that Israel has violated the ceasefire agreement 80 times since it took effect.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas, the Palestinian resistance group, launched an attack on Israel. According to Israeli sources, more than 1,100 people were killed and around 250 were taken hostage to Gaza.

In retaliation, Israeli forces began heavy bombardments on Gaza the same day. Over the past two years, nearly 68,000 people have been killed in Gaza, according to local reports.

Recently, Hamas and Israel agreed to a ceasefire under the 20-point peace plan proposed by U.S. President Trump. Under the agreement, Israeli forces are to halt their operations in Gaza in exchange for the release of hostages, both alive and dead, held in the enclave.

The complex process of implementing the first phase of this ceasefire is currently underway.
