A new wildfire has erupted north of Los Angeles, California, spreading rapidly due to strong winds and dry vegetation.

The "Hughes Fire" fire began on Wednesday and has already burned over 8,000 acres (32 square kilometers). Authorities have issued mandatory evacuation orders for more than 19,000 residents in affected areas.

The wildfire broke out approximately 80 kilometers north of Los Angeles, adding significant pressure to local firefighting teams. Before this new blaze started, these crews had recently gained control over two large wildfires in urban areas.

Officials have warned residents near Castaic Lake in Los Angeles County, stating that their lives are at immediate risk.

South California remains under a “Red Flag Warning” due to strong winds and dry conditions, indicating extreme wildfire danger across the region.

Emergency teams are working around the clock to contain the fire and ensure the safety of residents in the threatened areas.
