A Palestinian two-year-old child has been killed by Israeli forces during a search operation near the town of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the girl's name is Laila Mohammed Ayman al-Khatib. She is two and a half years old.
The Health Ministry says Israeli forces shot Layla in the head during a search operation in the Martyrs' Triangle area of Jenin. The child later died from serious injuries.
Earlier, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported that the seriously injured child, Laila, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
The Times of Israel reported that Laila's pregnant mother was also injured during the raid, but her injuries were not serious.
The Israeli military said it was investigating the killing of baby Laila, adding that Israeli soldiers opened fire on a building there after receiving intelligence that Palestinian fighters were hiding.
At least 14 Palestinians have been reported killed in Jenin in the occupied West Bank since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza came into effect.
