Donald Trump has hinted that Saudi Arabia might be his first international trip if he takes office for a second term as U.S. president.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Saturday, Trump suggested the possibility, deviating from the tradition of U.S. presidents making their first state visit to the United Kingdom.

During the conversation, Trump recalled his 2017 trip to Saudi Arabia, which was his first foreign visit as president. “I visited Saudi Arabia before because they agreed to buy billions of dollars in goods from the United States. If that offer is right, I would do it again,” Trump said.

Saudi Arabia has long been a key ally of the United States, particularly in energy and security matters. Trump emphasized the country’s importance, noting its strategic partnership during his first term.

In 2017, Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia received significant attention. The Saudi government gave him a lavish welcome, and his participation in a traditional sword dance became a widely discussed moment.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has expressed optimism about Trump’s potential return to the White House. Reports suggest the crown prince is interested in investing $600 billion in the United States over the next four years if Trump secures a second term.

As Trump considers Saudi Arabia for his first state visit, the move underscores the deep ties between the two nations, signaling potential collaborations in trade, investment, and regional security.
