Most of the time we use Google Password Manager to save time. Along with social media, different passwords and usernames are required to access different websites. Since the password for each account is different, it is often difficult to remember the password. Therefore, it is important to store the password safely.

Using a password manager app, one or more passwords can be easily stored online. As a result, there is no need to enter the password repeatedly to access any website or app.

Through Google Password Manager, any account and password information can be stored securely online.

As a result, it is possible to automatically log in to a specific website later using the account and password in Google Password Manager. However, the 5 major limitations of this widely used password manager by Google have become a cause of suffering for users.

1. No two-factor authentication support

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is one of the most important ways to increase the security of password management. But surprisingly, Google Password Manager does not support 2FA. Although Google has its own authenticator app.

However, it would be more convenient for users if the opportunity to manage passwords and 2FA codes on the same platform was available. Now, when logging in to a website that supports 2FA on a desktop computer, you have to go to a separate app to generate a code.

However, many other password managers automatically fill in the 2FA code immediately after login. Even on smartphones, Google Password Manager fills in the password, but you have to go to a separate app to get the 2FA code. This complexity can make many users reluctant to use 2FA.

2. Limitations of password sharing

For online security, it is necessary to be careful when sharing passwords. If you want to share your online account login information with others, it is important to ensure that it is done securely.

However, the scope of password sharing in Google Password Manager is limited. Using this password manager, you can only share passwords with Google One members. Again, even if you can share passwords with Google One members if you change the password, it is not automatically updated for the person you share it with. For this, you have to manually enter the new password.

3. No facility to store bank or payment information

Many password managers offer the ability to store login information, bank accounts, credit cards, and even important notes and documents. But Google Password Manager doesn't offer the ability to store all of this important information. Google Password Manager only offers a password storage tool.

4. There is no option to edit the suggested password.

A basic function of a password manager is to generate passwords. However, there is no option to change the structure of the suggested passwords in Google Password Manager. As a result, the length, numbers, or special characters of the suggested passwords cannot be added or removed.

5. Can only be used in the Chrome browser

Password managers are the centerpiece of a user's online security. It's important to ensure that they are easy to use across all platforms. But Google's password manager only works in the Chrome browser. Google's password manager cannot be used from Firefox, Safari, or other browsers.
