Emiliano Martinez won the World Cup. He also won the Copa America. That is, he won the global and continental championship title for his country. He was also the best goalkeeper there. He won the goalkeeper's Ballon d'Or and FIFA 'Best'. Meanwhile, he turned 32 last September. The question therefore arises - when will Emiliano Martinez retire? He has not yet won anything big in club football, and there is almost nothing left to achieve for his country!
Martinez answered the question. His personality as a person came out again in that answer. Although he is a solid wall under the post, he is a humorous and funny person outside. In a humorous way, 'Dibu' said that he will definitely retire. For that, of course, he has to win the 2026 World Cup.
Yesterday marked two years since Argentina won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. To mark the occasion, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) released a video from their AFA Estudio, which can be seen on the 'AFA Estudio' YouTube channel.
Argentina's World Cup-winning team sat down with some of their teammates to reminisce about their last World Cup triumph. Martinez was joined by Enzo Fernandez, Alexis McAllister, Gonzalo Montiel and Lautaro Martinez. Aston Villa goalkeeper Martinez spoke about his retirement.

Martinez first wanted to know, 'Is there any team that has won the World Cup twice in a row?' Martinez then confirmed that he would retire if he could do that for Argentina in the 2026 World Cup, 'I will retire, I promise.'
Italy and Brazil have won the World Cup twice in a row. Italy won the 1934 and 1938 World Cups. Brazil won the 1958 and 1962 World Cups.
Martinez made an incredible save from France's Kolo Muani in the final minutes of the World Cup final in Qatar, with the score tied at 3-3 in regulation time. Although there was much discussion about it, Martinez gave new information about the save to his teammates, saying, "I swear, I made a better save than that one.
In that case, I closed my eyes and said (to myself), 'Blow my head off.'" Martinez then explained, "I stood in front of (Kolo Muani) diagonally. I raised my hand as the ball bounced. Normally I keep my hand down."
Martinez won the FIFA 'The Best' award for goalkeeper of the year. He won the same award in 2022. He won the Ballon d'Or for best goalkeeper (Lev Yashin Trophy) this year and last year.
