Ariana Grande to receive 'Rising Star Award' at Palm Springs International Film Festival

Ariana Grande, the star of the recently released movie 'Wicked', is set to receive the Rising Star Award. The announcement was made at the Palm International Film Festival on Wednesday. The film festival will begin on January 2 next year and continue until January 13.

Festival Director Nachtar Singh Chandi said about Ariana's award, "Ariana Grande's portrayal of Glinda in Wicked has taken her acting to a new level. She perfectly embodies her character in the film and has also proven her versatility through this acting skill. We are proud to honor Ariana with the Rising Star Award." Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow), Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air), Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation), Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) and Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl and Ex Machina) have previously received awards from the Palm International Film Festival.


Meanwhile, Howard, Lawrence, and Kendrick were later nominated for Academy Awards, and Vikander won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

The first part of the movie 'Wicked', directed by John M. Chu, was released on November 22. The movie presents Grande in a completely new way, as audiences have never seen her before. The movie also stars Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Peter Dinklage, Bowen Young and many others.

Ariana Grande's acting career began as a child artist in the Broadway musical '13'. In addition, Grande starred in 'Don't Look Up' in 2021. In addition to her acting career, she is a popular international pop star.
