Actor Allu Arjun and the makers of the film have announced financial assistance of Rs 2 crore to the family of the victim of the stampede at the premiere of 'Pushpa 2' in Hyderabad. The actor's father Allu Arjun said this while visiting the injured child at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Allu's family promised to give Rs 1 crore to the child's family on Wednesday. In addition, the film's producer Sukumar will give Rs 50 lakh, and the production company will give another Rs 50 lakh. In total, a total of Rs 2 crore will be given to the victim's family. Allu is unable to meet the child's family directly due to legal reasons. Therefore, the money will be handed over to the family by Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairperson Dil Raju.
The accident took place at the premiere of the film 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4. The crowd overflowed as soon as actor Allu entered the theatre. 35-year-old Revathi was trampled to death. Her 9-year-old son Sai Tej was also seriously injured. He has been undergoing treatment in the hospital for 21 days. Tej regained consciousness on Tuesday night after being in a coma for so long. His father Bhaskar Magudampalli thanked the Telangana government and Allu Arjun for being by his side.
The actor was arrested after the incident. However, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail the next day. Although currently out on bail, Allu had to face police questioning again on Tuesday. The police called him to the police station and questioned him for about an hour.
However, the child's father said that Allu has been standing by his family since the day after the incident. He has also promised to bear all the expenses of his son's treatment. On Monday, 'Pushpa 2' producer Naveen Yerneni came to see Tej at the hospital and handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to them. Apart from this, Allu had earlier promised the victim's family financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh. This time, the actor's family increased the compensation amount to Rs 1 crore.
