Pakistan has carried out airstrikes in a province bordering Afghanistan, killing 46 people. A spokesman for the Taliban government in Afghanistan told this information on Wednesday.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban government's chief spokesman said Pakistan bombed four locations in the Barmal district of Paktika province, Afghanistan, on Tuesday night.
Zabihullah Mujahid said that a total of 46 people were killed in the bombing in Pakistan. He said that most of the dead were children and women.
The Taliban government spokesman also said that six people were injured in the attack.
The Taliban government's Ministry of Defense issued a statement condemning the Pakistani attack, calling it a "barbaric and blatant aggression" on Afghan territory.
The statement added that this cowardly act will be responded to. Afghanistan considers the protection of its territory and sovereignty as its inalienable right.
The Taliban seized power in Afghanistan again in 2021. Since then, border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have been increasing.
Pakistan alleges that the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan are providing shelter and protection to militants, allowing them to launch attacks on Pakistani soil. However, Kabul has been denying Islamabad's allegations.
