At least 45 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, including hospital workers and journalists from a Palestinian TV channel, Palestinian sources said.

Hossam Abu Safia, head of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Beit Lahia area, said five hospital workers were killed in the Israeli attack. They included a pediatrician, a lab technician, two ambulance workers, and a maintenance worker.

The Israeli military was asked for immediate comment on the matter but did not respond.

Amidst Israel's major offensive in northern Gaza for more than two months, only a handful of hospitals remain operational in the area, one of which is Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Israel has been carrying out a major operation in the northern Gaza Strip since October 6 of this year. They claim that they are carrying out the attack to ensure that members of the Palestinian independence-seeking armed group Hamas cannot regroup.

Meanwhile, the head pediatrician at Nasser Hospital in the Khan Younis area, located on the other side of Gaza, said that three children have died this week due to low body temperatures amid the severe winter cold.

Dr. Ahmed Al Farah recently mentioned the death of a three-week-old baby girl. He said the baby was brought to the hospital's emergency department. Her body temperature had dropped dramatically, which led to her death.

He said that two children, aged three days and less than a month, died last Tuesday.

Al-Quds Today, a Palestinian TV channel affiliated with the armed group Islamic Jihad, said five of its journalists were killed in an Israeli strike in central Gaza on Thursday. The attack targeted their vehicle in Gaza. The Israeli military said it targeted a group of terrorists.

Witnesses said a car parked outside Al Awda Hospital in Nusseira was hit by a missile.

In addition, the Civil Defense, the Gaza rescue agency, said that several more people were killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza yesterday. Of these, 13 people were killed in an attack on a house west of Gaza City where displaced families had taken refuge.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said two of its soldiers were killed in an attack in the Gaza Strip, bringing the number of Israeli soldiers killed since the start of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip to 391.

AFP figures, citing Israeli government officials, say that 1,208 people have been killed in the Gaza offensive since it began on October 7 last year. Most of them are civilians. And the Hamas-controlled government's health ministry says that at least 45,399 people have been killed in Israel's attacks on Gaza. Most of them are civilians.
